OpenStudy (erinweeks):

Given: line l is parallel to line m. If the measure of angle 4 = 3x + 2, and the measure of angle 6 is 2x – 7, find the value of x and the measures of angles 4 and 6.

OpenStudy (rajee_sam):

where is your drawing?? showing which angle is which??

OpenStudy (erinweeks):

@jim_thompson5910 for this one Jim all my teacher said on my feedback was that these angles are not equal they are suppplementary

OpenStudy (erinweeks):

and ill draw the pic now

OpenStudy (erinweeks):

@jim_thompson5910 just help when your ready I got work at 5 so ill try to finish what im trying to ask up before 430 lol

OpenStudy (rajee_sam):

OpenStudy (rajee_sam):

< means angle

OpenStudy (rajee_sam):

now angle 2 and six are corresponding angles so they are congruent. And angle 4 and angle 2 are supplementary angles ( Angles in a straight line)

OpenStudy (rajee_sam):

Angle 2 = angle 6 and angle 2 + angle 4 = 180° Now you can solve for x

OpenStudy (erinweeks):

with supplementary angles how would I write the equation? Cause I put them equal to each otherbut they were wrong

OpenStudy (rajee_sam):

just add them and they will be equal to 180°

OpenStudy (erinweeks):

oh okay so just put them like this angle 4 + angle 6 =180?

OpenStudy (rajee_sam):

yes

OpenStudy (erinweeks):

okay good thank you I believe I have the rest now I have a few other questions if thats fine with you?

OpenStudy (rajee_sam):

just post them and I will see what I can do

OpenStudy (erinweeks):

Okay thank you very much im about to post another now
