Divide 3.61 * 10^14 square meters by 0.708, the decimal equivalent of 70.8%. This gives you 5.09 * 10^14 square meters.

Yeah, I was just pointing out that there was a typo when copying the number, and if you took him at his word exactly, you wouldn't get the right answer...
