Help please! A cylinder has a height that is 2 times as large as its radius. The lateral area of the cylinder is 16pi square units. What is the length of the radius of the cylinder?

OpenStudy (rulnick):

lateral area (not including circular caps) = 2 pi r h = 2 pi r (2r) = 4 pi r^2, which we are told equals 16 pi. So 4 r^2 = 16, and thus r = 2.
