what is tan 3pi/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\tan 3\pi/2=\tan \left(2 \pi-\frac{ \pi }{2 } \right)=-\tan \frac{ \pi }{2 }\rightarrow -infty \]\[\tan \frac{ 3\pi }{ 2 }=\tan \left( \pi+\frac{ \pi }{ 2 } \right)=\tan \frac{ \pi }{2 }\rightarrow \infty \] so from the right it approaches to negative infinity. from left it approaches to infinity.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is tan 270=\[\infty\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

tan270 also equals tan(180+90) when you see this kind of statement you change the name of function e.g you change tan to cot . so it became cot 180 .cot means cos/sin so we have to find what cos 180 =-1 sin180=0 the denominator is 0. ıf you dont get any calculus course you cannot be able to understand how you convert this into a new stamement which doesnt include obscure like that. I mean mostly when a number is divided by 0 the result is \[\infty \]
