Start with the point B (-1, -4). Reflect the point through the y-axis. What are the new coordinates of the point B’? Now reflect the point through the x-axis. What are the new coordinates of the point B’’? What is the relationship between the original point B and B’’? Can you describe this in terms of one reflection? I already know the new points are (1,-4) and (-1,4)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but I don't know how to describe the relationship or in terms of one reflection

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay...so when when you reflect it over the y axis, you negate the x coordinate, and when you reflect over the x-axis you negate the y coordinate, so what are the the points, B' and B''

OpenStudy (anonymous):

huh???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i already found the new points.. i just need help describing the relationship and describing it in terms of one reflection

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, you don't have the points fully correct. You have one of them, but not the final one.
