Yes because you can get in contact with people easier. Not everyone has their cellphones with them all the time. It's another option to go to if you need to get a hold of someone. You can also keep posted on whats going on in your family and close friends lives. It can also be bad; it could become addicting for some.

they are good but don't get addicted to them then they can be harmful.
