OpenStudy (anonymous):

What is the y coordinate of the y-intercept of the line that passes through the points (-4, -1) and (4, 5)?

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

first thing we must do is fine the slope.. you have 2 points (-4,-1) (4,5) (x1, y1) (x2,y2) Using those number *and labels I have posted below them* use this formula \[m = \frac{ y2 - y1 }{ x2 - x1 }\] what do you get?
