Find the volume of the figure. Round to the nearest tenth if necessary. (Use 22/7 for ∏) A)228.7 m3 B)288.8 m3 C)288.4 m3 D)234.5 m3 The Diameter is 7m The Height is 15m The 3D Object: Cylinder

OpenStudy (goldphenoix):

What 3D object are you talking about?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Cylinder @GoldPhenoix

OpenStudy (goldphenoix):

If you're talking about a cylinder, then you can use the formula, \[r^2\Pi x Height\] The diameter of the cylinder is 7. We want to find the radius. So you divide 7 by 2 to get the radius, 3.5. Now plug it in, \[3.5^2 x \frac{ 22 }{ 7 } x 15\] \[3.5^2 = 12.25\] \[12.25 x \frac{ 22 }{ 7 } x 15\] \[12.25 x \frac{ 22 }{ 7 } = 38.5\] 38.5 x 15 = 500.5.

OpenStudy (goldphenoix):

Hm.. What did I do wrong...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

38.5*15= 577.7 But that is still wrong though..But I'm not sure what you did wrong. @GoldPhenoix

OpenStudy (goldphenoix):

The radius is 3.5 and the height is 15. It should give you 577.5. The choices are wrong.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Dang. Okay, this is one of my problems for homework. I just chose a random answer and it said it was 288.8m3
