If sound travels faster in liquids, why can't we hear properly in liquids?

OpenStudy (aravindg):

Maybe because sound gets scattered a lot when it passes through liquids

OpenStudy (aravindg):

This is also the reason why we cant see properly in liquids

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Isn't it also scattered much more in the air particles, but we can still hear properly?

OpenStudy (aravindg):

nope scattering is more in liquids
