plzzz any 1 quickly tell me about some products using microcontrollers in 2012

OpenStudy (anonymous):

few example are motherboards, PC chipsets, PCI bridges, Ethernet products, Flash memory, your data cards etc are few exam of microcontoller

OpenStudy (kenljw):

In the 70's I worked in on "Micro Film" producing machine as a EE tech. During that time they converted from analog/digital machine to a analog/Z8080 microprocessor machine. This in itself reduced the need of digital chips, AND, OR, ... , and made the machine much smaller. Using just a microprocessor and associated control programing and circuits, we can simulate just about any analog circuit with the versatility of change with minimum change of analog circuitry. This becomes evident in control/controls systems, the previous use of analog computers has been circumvented by microprocessors ones. The use today is only limited by the EE Engineer knowledge of analog/digital concepts and ideas, as Z transforms, Fourier series/transform, Laplace transforms. Then more you know and understand these and other concept you become aware that there isn't really any difference between the analog and digital world.

They are everywhere. A new car has dozens and dozens of microcontrollers, the NEST thermostat, blood pressure cuffs, blood sugar monitors, televisions, iRobots, Arduino, network routers, network switches. Almost all electronic gadgets now use microcontrollers. Slightly larger scale products, such as smartphones, tablets, etc. use Application Processors, which are microprocessors not microcontrollers. The difference is just that microcontrollers contain peripherals for interfacing with the real world, such as A/D converters, PWM drivers, discrete digital inputs and outputs, timers, comparators, etc.
