Can someone please tell me what atoms are involved in a nuclear fission reaction? Also, what are the practical limitations of this reaction?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Uranium atoms are involved in nuclear fission.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Does not have to be always uranium and can be other heavy elements such as Plutonium. Limitation are that you cannot use smaller lighter elements such as hydrogen, and also you will need 7-8 million million electron volts as an energy input.
