The reason why they're well adapted for gas exchange and food absorption is: -They have a thin exchange surface so that the diffusion pathway is very small and quick. -They have a large surface area. -They are covered with capillaries which are needed for the exchange or absorption. -There are many alveoli and villi in the body.
