Cara has 12 CDs on her desk. On her bookshelf, she has 4 identical CD storage cases, each completely full with CDs. The total number of CDs in her room combined is less than 80. How many CDs might each storage case hold? Let c represent the number of CDs each storage case might hold. A. c < 5 B. c < 7 C. c < 17 D. C < 20

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

So total...there are 80 or less cd's....there are 12 randomly on the desk....so 80 - 12 = 68 cd's that should be held by the 4 cases 4c < 68 divide both sides by 4 4c < 68 ------- 4 4 c < 17
