Standard Deviation. just need help with the last step.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[Standard Deviation = \sqrt{48 (10 - 6)^{2} }\div 8\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do I need to simplify it before I take the square root?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

mathically, you would always want to simplify things; but a calculator really doesnt care how simple you make it to start with

OpenStudy (amistre64):

how did you go about those values for the sd?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I figured it out now but thank you. before it was giving me 10 when i simplified and 13 when I didn't. I got the vaules from the orginal set of numbers.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

good luck with it :)
