Well, the US has never been in a full-scale war with the Soviets, so we can skip that answer.  Vietnam never went back to being a French colony, so that isn't right, either.  NATO is the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, and Vietnam is thousands of miles away, so that isn't likely to be correct either :-)  The US did however eventually withdraw its forces from South Vietnam, which led a few years later to the conquest of South Vietnam by North Vietnam.
