For the inequality x + 3y ≥ 2, the line should be _____ and the region the origin is in should _____ shaded.

OpenStudy (chrisplusian):

solid......... not

OpenStudy (chrisplusian):

the origin is the point zero zero (0,0). plug that into the equation and it says :\[0+3(0) \ge 2\] which translates to \[0 \ge 2\] that is a false statement so it is not in that region. The line should be solid because the inequality is greater than or equal to..... so the oine can be included in the region
