Select one renewable and one nonrenewable resource that can be used to generate electricity for your community. Research the possible positive and negative impacts that each resource can have, including impacts on the environment, economy, health, safety, and lifestyle. For each resource, your presentation should include research-based advantages and disadvantages in each of the following categories: How the resource is obtained, transported, or harnessed. Explanations of how this resource is used to supply electricity. Expenses involved with obtaining, storing, and converting the resource, including construction and maintenance of the facility and equipment. Environmental impacts associated with obtaining, transporting, or harnessing the resource, including any disposal needed. Other potential hazards, such as health and safety, associated with obtaining or using the resource. The presentation should also include a conclusion in which you summarize a comparison of the two resources and then make a recommendation as to which one would be better for your community. Be sure to explain and defend your recommendation. The presentation should be research-based, complete, organized, and written in complete sentences. It can be presented in a slide show or a paper, and should include a bibliography or works-cited page listing all of the references cited in the presentation.
