It says write the standard equation of the circle graphed below.

OpenStudy (mertsj):

This is your exam?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No no , review packet.

OpenStudy (mertsj):

What is the center of that circle?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(-1,2)

OpenStudy (mertsj):

What is the radius?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Idk..?

OpenStudy (mertsj):

\[(x-h)^2+(y-k)^2=r^2\]

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Count the squares starting at the center and going to the right until you come to the circle. The radius is the distance from the center of the circle to the circle.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4?

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Now replace (h,k) with the center coordinates and r with the radius in the equation I wrote.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[(x-1)^2+(y-2)^2=4^2\]
