How did the Soviet forces respond to Operation Barbarossa? They focused on battles in France, allowing the German army to capture Moscow. They surrounded the German army and defeated them at Stalingrad. They ignored German advancements, focusing instead on the Italian invasion. They launched air raids on Moscow to prevent the German army from taking the arms stored there.

help plz :)

hi :)

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

The Soviet forces weren't involved in France, and they really weren't invaded by Italy (although some Italian forces did serve on the Eastern Front with the German troops). No air raids on Moscow by Soviet forces of which I've ever heard, but there was an enormous battle at Stalingrad which resulted in the surrender of von Paulus' 6th Army in Feb 1943. I wouldn't call it a reaction to Barbarossa, myself, but simply one of many battles that took place after the invasion. After all, the invasion took place in summer 1941, and the battle for Stalingrad began in the fall of 1942.

Oh, okay thanks for the info. Sadly I need to answer it with 1 of those answers. In your opinion what do you think?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@whpalmer4 ? :)

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

Stalingrad is the only answer that is close to being reasonable. But it's kind of a stretch to say that it was a reaction to the invasion :-)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait, i am confused, would that be a b c or d?

OpenStudy (anonymous):
