OpenStudy (nerdy_3000):

I need help finding x and y on 56 and need help figuring 57 http://oi44.tinypic.com/js0rxt.jpg-file update

OpenStudy (raden):

can u dram ur diagram here, i have to rotate my laptop to see that --"

OpenStudy (raden):

* draw

OpenStudy (nerdy_3000):

Alright hold on a sec

OpenStudy (nerdy_3000):

http://oi44.tinypic.com/js0rxt.jpg this one shouldn't be upside down

OpenStudy (raden):

56.) first, solve for t for the equation : 3t - 15 = 2t + 10 can u solve this ?

OpenStudy (nerdy_3000):

yes you get t=25

OpenStudy (raden):

yup, that's right

OpenStudy (nerdy_3000):

alright then what do I do with the 4y and 3x in which it is very confusing?? I don't understand it

OpenStudy (raden):

now, solve for x for the equation : 2t+10+3x = 180 we have t = 25 before, so put into equation above 2(25) + 10 + 3x = 180 50 + 10 + 3x + 180 60 + 3x = 180 now, x = ... ?

OpenStudy (raden):

typo .. i mean 50 + 10 + 3x =180

OpenStudy (nerdy_3000):

x=40

OpenStudy (raden):

correct again

OpenStudy (raden):

now to get y, take the equation of : 4y = 3x (put x=40, first) 4y = 3(40) 4y = 120 so, y = ...

OpenStudy (nerdy_3000):

y=30

OpenStudy (raden):

good finishing :)

OpenStudy (nerdy_3000):

alright do I sort of do the same for 57 because to me they look different

OpenStudy (nerdy_3000):

hello anybody there

OpenStudy (nerdy_3000):

i need help with 57 anyone

OpenStudy (raden):

ok, solv for t first 5t - 17 = 2t - 5 t = ...

OpenStudy (nerdy_3000):

t=4

OpenStudy (raden):

yes, correct then solve for g, take the equation of : g = t + 2 just put t = 4, ofcource g = 4+2 = 6

OpenStudy (nerdy_3000):

Do you know how to do the midsegment formula for a trapezoid even though there is a number in the center like this|dw:1369861761994:dw|
