Tape a bar magnet to a small toy car with the north pole at the back of the car and the south pole at the front. Remove the magnet behind the car and hold both magnets in front of the car with the north poles facing the car. What happens? Why? Does the car move faster with both magnets in front of the car or with one magnet pushing from behind and the other magnet pulling from ahead? What happens with two magnets in front and one pushing from behind? Why do you think this occurs? Tie a string in the center of a magnet and suspend the magnet. What direction do the poles point? Does the same thing occur? Why?
