There is no equation to solve. When you have a square added to another number, you take the square root of the negated "extra number", didn't you learn that in school?

So I took the negation of 1 which is -1 and the square root of -1 is I. SO "i" is the answer for X

If you mean "x^2 + 1 = 0" you must WRITE "= 0". You may not assume it.
