Why was the Election of 1860 one of the most important in American history? The election of Abraham Lincoln immediately put an end to slavery. Americans did not believe that the president had been nominated fairly. The election of Abraham Lincoln led to the secession of South Carolina. Americans did not believe that the country was ready for Reconstruction

I think it's C. The election of Abraham Lincoln led to the secession of South Carolina.

Mhm, It's for sure C. A doesn't make any sense Abe didn't immediately put an end to slavery it took time. Americans did believe he was nominated fairly, and Americans thought America needed Reconstruction they were tired of the war. South Carolina, left right after he got elected. :P So I would have to agree with Gold Phoenix! :)
