Find the area of the polygon!

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

So how many sides do you have here?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|dw:1369884507832:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

6 sides

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

I'm cooking dinner, so I'll let @AravindG help you...

OpenStudy (aravindg):

|dw:1369884609324:dw| Find the area of a single triangle .Then Multiply by 6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so its 18x6?

OpenStudy (aravindg):

Actually I cant understand what is 18 here .Is it the side length?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk how you drew it is the way it is suppose to look

OpenStudy (aravindg):

Ok I will assume it as side length

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay so was what i said right? 18x6?

OpenStudy (aravindg):

No .First you need to find area of triangle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and can you help me?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because i don't understand

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im suppose to find the area of the reagular polygon for that question

OpenStudy (aravindg):

Well first find area of the equilateral triangles formed you could use the formula A = ab Sin x Here a=b=18 x=60

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay is that the answer?

OpenStudy (aravindg):

No you need to work it out

OpenStudy (aravindg):

Find the area of a single triangle .Then Multiply by 6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do i divide 18 and 60 to get that?

OpenStudy (aravindg):

NOO! Look at what I told you First find area of a single triangle using A = ab Sin x then multiply A by 6

OpenStudy (aravindg):

I hope you can do it now

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wel i don't understand thanks for your help but i don't need someone yelling at me.
