Why do plant cells have mitochondrion?

OpenStudy (priths):

If plant cells do not have mitochondria then how will aerobic respiration take place and how will the plants get energy then ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Mitochondria is the part of cells that generate energy hence the reason they are called the power house of the cell

OpenStudy (priths):

jordanrochelleburgett i said the same thing

OpenStudy (priths):

no we will have to tell the respiration part and its necessary

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i know but the way you said it was a bit more complicated than it had to be therefore i made it simple :)

OpenStudy (priths):

why are you typing the same reply ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and seeing as you already touched on respiration i did not i just wanted to be more clear on mitochria and so i fixed the typo's
