Hey linear algebra check. Question here: http://gyazo.com/69fbc207b62d0620bd7e5b9a05592d5c Do you just do this by finding the orthonormal basis made up of eignevectors and then use those as the columns of P?

OpenStudy (jhannybean):

omg my eyes.

Hah sorry my cell phone has a pretty terrible camera. I can try to re-type the question:\[A= \left[\begin{matrix}1 & 4 &3\\ 4 &1 &0\\ 3 & 0 &1 \end{matrix}\right]\] It's asking me to find a 3x3 orthogonal matrix P such that \[P^{T}AP\] is diagonal, and asking for the diagonal entries.

OpenStudy (jhannybean):

@.Sam. Maybe he can help

I actually already got it but thank you. |dw:1369893966542:dw| and the diagonal entries are -4,1,3. It was done the way I was asking about
