the same skills you use for critical reading and like trying to understand what the authors point of view is and imagining the pictures the words are talking about.. thats basically what it is like doing math :)

ya i know what u mean charlie thats the issue with most students, they dont realize the implications of starting to learn the basics of math,
learning some equations is like learning a bunch of words,
basically the more equatiosn you learn and proof for them,the more your math vocabulary increases, you gotta practice that vocabulary, but eventually u will have enough of a vocabulary, that you will just basically be able to fill in all the pieces you are missing and start doing all kinds of problems without writing on a piece of paper or anything, the way u look at the world will be in shapes with integration definitions, the way you watch sports, the way you play games everything, just like some people thing in the language they speak, if you get good enough you will think in the language of math :D
