find the unit prices to the nearest tenth of one cent. 10 lb. for $2.15

OpenStudy (jack1):

what do you need the answer in? at the moment it's stating that 10lb = $2.15

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i have to find the unit prices to the nearest tenth of one cent.

OpenStudy (jack1):

yep, at the moment it is a unit price it's the price per 10 - pounds so what is the unit size its sold in...? per 10 pounds? per pound? per ounce...?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the answer is $.215 so i need the work shown step by step!

OpenStudy (jack1):

ok, that answer matches up with the price per pound so to get from 1- pounds to 1 pound, we divide by 10 so what we do to one side of the equals sign, we have to do to the other therefore: \[10 lb = $2.15\rightarrow so 10\div10 = 1lb = $2.15\div10\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks

OpenStudy (jack1):

*sorry: "so to get from 10 pounds to 1 pound, we divide by 10"

OpenStudy (jack1):
