stamens are the male reproductive organs of flowering plants. a stamen consists of a filament(a long stalk which supports the anther) and an anther (the structure that produces pollen grains.pollen grains contain the male gametes)
Without the stamen, the anther wouldn't exist. And we all know that it NEEDS an anther in order to reproduce. That's the best explanation I can give you. Hope it helps!
