HELP PLEASE!!!! Pentane with molecular formula C5H12, exists in three isomeric forms. One shows linear carbon chains, another has one -CH3 groups present on the third carbon atom, and the third has two -CH3 groups present on the second carbon atom. What types of isomers are these? Select one of the options below as your answer: A. Geometric isomers B. Structural isomers C. Halotropic isomers

OpenStudy (australopithecus):

Geometric Isomers: http://www.chemguide.co.uk/basicorg/isomerism/geometric.html Structural Isomers http://www.chemguide.co.uk/basicorg/isomerism/structural.html Enantiomer https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enantiomer I have never heard of Halotropic isomer, if I were to guess what it is, it would be a molecule with almost the same molecular formula that differs only in halogen atom attached. It is probably not even a word though. I include enantiomer for completeness because it is the third type of isomer possible Hope this helps

thanks

no problem if you have any other questions please feel free to ask :)

@Australopithecus Maybe holotropic? I can't find anything for halotropic either xD
