. Find the volume of a prism with a square base that is 5 cm by 5 cm and is 10 cm tall

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Find the volume of a cylinder with diameter 22 in and height 15 in.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

formula for a prism is v=l X bXh formula for a cylinder V= pi r^2 h

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you help? i still don't get it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im not supposed to give u the answer but ill show u how...then u do it and i will tell u if u are correct....... for the prism you have all 3 dimensions...so just multiply them -for the cylinder covert the diameter to a radius by diving by 2 and then substitute in the formula

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so i multiplied the dimensions which is 250 cm right? and for the second question i got 1797 in^2 i just still don't get the first one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

pi X 11^2 X 15= the volume of cylinder think are for the volume of prism...5X5...gives u the area and then multiply by the height
