A square has a perimeter of 12 cm. What is its area?

The perimeter of a square is the addition of all the sides....a square has 4 equal sides....so Perimeter = 4(side length) 12 = 4 (side length) Side length = 3 Area is Length * Width....so 4 times what the side length (we just found) is 3 so Area = 3 * 3 Area = ?
