Use the Factor Theorem to determine whether the first polynomial is a factor of the second polynomial. x - 5; 3x^2 + 7x + 40 Can i use synthetic division for this?

OpenStudy (tyteen4a03):

You don't even need synthetic division. Remember the definition of Factor Theorm: A polynomial f(x) has a factor (x - k) if and only if f(k) = 0.
