1. “Dream Variations” by Langston Hughes and “The Tropics in New York” by Claude McKay both depict a longing for another place. What are the places and what do they represent?

Because these two poems are written by Langston Hughes, I would infer that he is hoping for a better place. Such as in "The Tropics in New York" he wishes to see the concrete jungle in a different perspective, he wishes for paradise in such a horrible place.
