Find the sum of the first five terms of the geometric series for which a1 = 2 and r = 2.
\[S_n = a \frac{ 1 - r^n }{ 1-r }\] this says...the sum of the first 5 terms....is found by this equation 'a' is your first term (2) 'r' is your common ratio (2) and 'n' is the number of terms you want to sum (5) what do you come up with?
thank you!
no problem!
by common ratio did he mean the difference of each term?
i got my answer. common ratio is common multiplier i believe
oh yeah its a geometric, lol i thought i read arithmetic
:) no sweat
wow this is awesome site, i love math and its super fast
Yeah sorry I left :) haha, yes as @mattishot has said....this (geometric) would be common multiplier :)
yeah @alexisjm1. i wouldn't have gotten through my online math class without openstudy.
yeah, only algebra II on my online site is more like calculus.
what do you mean, online site?
I do alg2 in flvs and geometry at school + precalc and calculus which i have started learning
the online class i'm taking is based online lol. but it's super hard math.
