The five senses are sensory word, hence the name.. and they can be used to describe how a character views or feels a certain thing, for example.. "The beauty felt the soft fur of the beast upon her hand." What did she feel? the soft fur.  without that example of the fur being soft, you would have a hard time visualizing what she was feeling. sensory words are very important, they help the reader visualize the story more accurately.
