do u know what is autocatalyst
it is a type of catalyst.
yaa "the catalysis of a chemical reaction by one of the products of the reaction"
the catalyst is one of the products of the reaction.
hence when we use this there is no need to add an external catalyst once again bcoz the reaction mixture product itself is acting as catalyst and will carry the reaction to the end

And the purpose of a catalyst is to provide an alternative pathway. generally allowing a reaction to proceed faster, as well as lower the activation energy.
