Using APA how do I cite my own work. I wrote a paper and want to use the info again for another paper.
You wouldn't cite your own work... basically you are not a credible source of information, something like a newspaper article, or a website is more credible than you.. If you are trying to use information from your own paper, I would suggest instead find sources for that information in order to make it credible and believable. For example, If I am writing a paper on the migration of whales and I am 99% sure that I already know they migrate from the Atlantic ocean to the pacific ocean in the summer, I still need to find a credible source that I can cite in order to prove that what I said is true. Hope this makes sense.
makes total sense. I have already written a paper on the same subject and used credible sources for that paper I would like to not have to rewrite the entire paper again but if I use the same one it will appear plagiarized since I already submitted it to turn it in.
can I do that?
Can you do what exactly?
reuse a paper I have already written for another course with the same topic.
Well that really depends on your teacher, but I bet you 99% that it is not going to be okay with him/her. You should rewrite it and it should be fairly easy to do so since you have already written a paper on the topic. If you are using information from the previous paper, just cite the sources that you used there, and try to no copy the last paper.
I would just read through that last paper and then write another one without looking at the last one in order to prevent me writing the same exact things. And I would only look back for specific information, ie., dates, names, etc.
Thank you much, and I bet your right about that it not being ok with them Im sure I'll have to redo I was just wishful I guess. Thanks again
