Simplify Each Polynomial. 1) 6g + 8k - 9g + 2k A = 3g + 10k B= - 3g + 10k C= 17gk D= 10K - 3

OpenStudy (abb0t):

What is: \((6-9)g+(8+2)k\) ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A polynomial ?

OpenStudy (abb0t):

No, lol. I mean what is the answer when you add/subtract those numbers?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh Ok.

OpenStudy (abb0t):

You can only combike like terms in addition if they are the same, hence, you know that answer C is incorrect. Similarly, choice D is also incorrect because you lost "g". Which makes no sense. If you lost g, then you would have a zero, and you can see from what I posted up there, 6-9 does not equal zero. so "g" is still there. So you're left with only A or B. Now which do you think is the answer?

OpenStudy (abb0t):

Not quite. (6-9) does not = 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Your Right! So Da answer is B.

OpenStudy (abb0t):

Correct.

Thx so much 4 ur help.
