in 2000, in Country A, the average family net worth was 210,000 and there was about 9.3x10@Sup{7} families. Calculate the total family net worth in Country A IN 2000. Country A's total family net worth is $???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[9.3x10\exp7 families\]

@Atkinsoha @reemii @jhonyy9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

From my understanding, just multiply. 9.3 x 10^7 can be written as .00000093 then multiply that by 210,000

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Not sure if that's right, but that's what I would do.

OpenStudy (reemii):

total = average \(\times\) number of families.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait,, woops. it will be, 210,000 (93000000) went the wrong way in figuring the decimal points, woops!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1953000000000000

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@reemii @Atkinsoha

OpenStudy (anonymous):

19,530,000,000,000

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Atkinsoha how would i write that answer in scientific notation roundest to the nearest tenth as needed\[example 2.0x10\exp13\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[ex.2.0\times10\exp13\]

@Atkinsoha

1.953 x10 exp 13 So 2.0 x 10 exp 13, yup, you've got it @Avon
