One of the reasons why Gregor Mendel used pea plants for his experiment was that they grew quickly. This enabled him to see the results much faster. Another reasons is that pea plants are less genetically complicated as compared to animals. hope that helped :)

Gregor Mendel chose the pea plants for his experiments because the garden pea is an ideal subject in the study of genetics for the following reasons: - presence of observable traits with contrasting forms - produces many offspring in one cross - short life cycle - ease in manipulating pollination (cross pollination). i think this is the better answer
