A pipe is used to fill a fish tank which can hold 30 gallons of water. The pipe supplies 58 liters of water per hour. If 1 liter of water is equal to 0.26 gallons of water, which of these conclusions is correct about the fish tank? It will be filled in 2 hours. It will be filled in 30 minutes. It will overflow after 1 hour. It will overflow after 90 minutes.

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

Well....the fish tank holds 30 gallons. 1 liter = .26gallons So to find out how many liters you need...divide 30 --- .26 this gives you 115.38 liters.... Now that pipe...supplies 58 liters per hour...so to figure out how much time it will take....divide 115.38 ------- 58 this equals 1.989 ...Or can be rounded up to 2....so the tank will be filled in 2 hours hope that helps :)
