Are there lectures that accompany this course? I have found the syllabus, calendar, reading etc online but other than that im not seeing any instruction. Thanks.
Generally, the videos of the lectures are available on iTunes, YouTube and http://ocw.mit.edu .
I've found on YouTube some videos of lectures from what is either a different year or at least a different section than either of the sections with materials in OpenCourseWare. This one looks OK: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k6U-i4gXkLM (you can link to successive lectures from the first). But if you're looking for videos/lectures/assignment explanations to go with any of the materials for 6.189 on the MIT OCW website -- let us know if you FIND them! So far I haven't found anything directly related, only indirectly helpful materials.
The lectures they have referenced are from 6.00SC. Scroll down some, and below the Download Course Materials button there are links. The Archive ones are lower quality than the Youtube ones, so if you want offline versions, use a Youtube downloader of some sort: http://ocw.mit.edu/courses/electrical-engineering-and-computer-science/6-00sc-introduction-to-computer-science-and-programming-spring-2011/download-course-materials/
