area = length x breadth so length = 8, breadth =12.
 area of one room = 8x12 .
area of two rooms = 2(8x12)=192 square feet.

i think if you need twice of her then it would be better that the partition between both the room should be removed. Then the space would be larger. And two of you can enjoy..:)
