Given a straight line, \(y = mx + c\) and a point on this line \((x1, y1)\), Is there a simple direct formula to compute the coordinates of a point on this line that lies \(k\) units away from the given point ? I have tried writing a circle equation with radius k, and center at the given point, and solving the line and circle. it turned out complicated.
