solve for x 3x+1>10 or -2x-3>1

OpenStudy (espex):

How far have you gotten? Where are you stuck?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

don't know how to get started

OpenStudy (espex):

You pick an inequality and isolate 'x'. Starting with your first one, 3x+1>10, what would be the first step to get 'x' alone?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I was thinking subtract 3 from both sides

OpenStudy (espex):

The 3 is multiplied by the 'x', so you would not be able to subtract it.

What other options do you have?
