Mathematics 14 Online
OpenStudy (anonymous):

|3x + 2| = 14

OpenStudy (goldphenoix):

|3x + 2| = 14 -2 -2 ----------------- | 3x |= 12 Divide 3: x=4

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

there are 2 solutions to this problem, as it is an absolute value question 3x + 2 = 14 and 3x + 2 = -14 you need to solve both to get all the solutions

OpenStudy (jhannybean):

@GoldPhenoix i don't think you can subtract anything inside the absolute value before you establish its possible solutions, first. that means getting it out of the absolute value by stating there are two outcomes, -14 and +14
