Step 1: Identify the GCF Do this in two parts: identify the coefficient GCF then the variable GCF. To find the GCF of the coefficient, list the prime factors of each integer. Multiply the prime factors that both integers have in common. If there are no common factors, the GCF is 1. Step 2: This is like the reverse of distributing. Divide each term by the GCF and write the GCF to the side of the factored expression, which should be in parentheses to show the factors are being multiplied Step 3: Distribute the GCF to check your factors for accuracy.
For the expression I got 4x^3(x^3+2x^2-3x+2)
