Perspective of the washwoman?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It is about a woman of integrity and self respect...she walked for miles to pick up and deliver laundry in order to earn money for her family. It is also about the relationship between a Jew and a Gentile. The washwoman had a son who was wealthy and refused to have anything to do with her because he was ashamed of her. HE should have been ashamed of himself. Also, the boy who was telling the story, his mother hoped that he wouldn't grow up and treat her the way the Washwoman was treated by her son.
