47. Compare and contrast the movement of blood in pulmonary circulation with systemic circulation. (HINT: pulmonary always refers to what organs?)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Pulmonary refers to Lungs. The circulation of blood in the human body is dual, i.e., blood flows through the heart twice for every one round of the body. The first time, deoxygenated blood flows from the heart to the lungs to get oxygen and give out CO2, and then flows back to the heart. This is called Pulmonary Circulation. The second time, the oxygenated blood flows from the heart all over the body. This is called Systemic Circulation.
